Bonjour from Paris!

Bonjour....bonsoir....bonne soiree!
I have learned there are lots of ways to greet people..it's not always just a simple bonjour. Today marks by 18th day in Paris. My dad brought me over on the 11th of June and we had about 6  wonderful days exploring the city AND the food!

Before I start blogging any pictures or stories I need to introduce the word "Flaneur". You will see this word a lot, it can be used as a verb or a noun.
It was first used in 19th Century France referring to a man who was essential to the streets of Paris, carrying associations such as a man of leisure, an idler, urban explorer, the connoisseur of the street.
Flaneur has since replaced the word people watching for me. It sounds much more french to say "you are flaneuring" or " I love to flaneur!" Naturally, my dad and I became the ultimate flanuerers...we were flanuering everywhere we went!

To begin our flaneuring adventure this is the view from the apartment....

The vegetables..

The herbs...
After a little shopping and a quick nap, dinner was on the Rue Cler at a place called Cafe du Marche.
We enjoyed a bottle of rose and a classic cheeseburger with french fries. During dinner my dad and I looked at each other and said, "This is the best rose and the best hamburger we've ever had!"

To get to the Rue Cler from my apartment you walk through the Champs de Mars where is lots of action going on.

We passed this little car on the way home.
It is what began my obsession with little french cars (stayed tuned).

Montparnasse, the french flag and a full moon...
We made ourselves stay up to watch the Eiffel Tower light up. Starting at 11:00pm this happens every hour, on the hour for 5 minutes.
It is such a sight to see and a great reminder every night that I am in Paris.

Bonne soiree!
